Core tasks
· Embodying the core values of Wombat’s and a passion for hosting
· Acting as the leading figure for the hostel teams – Reception, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Security – through presence and providing purpose and feedback; indirect leadership of teams through department heads, direct leadership of department heads
· Promoting personal and professional development of their teams
· Providing support to and promoting good cooperation with the F&B department
· Managing administration and human resources for their teams and the F&B teams
· Monitoring and managing finances and costs (except for F&B and events)
· Ensuring the building and all relevant appliances are well maintained at all times
· Monitoring quality standards and overseeing reputation management
· Ensuring compliance with health- and safety regulations
· Driving continuous development in cooperation with Head Office
Required competences
· Hosting mindset – Incorporating Wombat’s values into operational work
· Leadership – Inspiring and leading a diverse team, fostering cooperation
· Communication – Communicating effectively to provide clarity and orientation
· Empathy – Understand and appropriately respond to needs of guests and staff
· Financial expertise – Proficiency in budget management and financial reporting
· Decision-Making – Quickly identify issues and make well-informed decisions
· Organisational skills – Prioritise and delegate tasks and responsibility efficiently
· Technical competence – Understanding technical issues and digital tools
· Advanced knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements
· Flexibility to adapt to situations and implement changes effectively
· Excellent skills in English (in speaking and writing)
Our offer
· A gross salary of 51,000 GBP per year. Willingness to offer above-market compensation depending on qualifications and experience
